Report #08-11 Water - River - Normal, Main lake - Normal, back side of Islands are the best place to find cooler water. Pines Releasing 135 (cfs.) that is giving us a little current in the upper part of the river, bass fishing is good when we have a little current in the river. We like to use the CrawClicker 3/16oz finesse jig in these conditions, we have been avg 12 to 14 fish per trip, the big fish of the trip’s was a nice 6.25lb.,fish the down stream side of the cypress trees.
Bass- fishing July 7th 6:30 am -11:00 pm - half day trip Fish Pattern’s We have been putting in a the 43 bridge these past two weeks. Some time we go up river from the bridge and fish our way back down, most of the time we head down river to the high bluff and fish our way back up to the bridge. We fish the area that has the most current near cypress trees and lily pads. We have been fishing this pattern for the past two weeks, this pattern works good as long as we have some current coming down from pines.
Baits we used this day: Early: Top Water - Use SPRO Frog , 3/8oz white buzz bait and BuzzFrog around the lily pads area, and Yellow magic and Heddon Pop’n Image around the Cypress trees. Note: keep our Finesse rig handy, if you have a fish blow up on your top water, flip the finesse rig on top of the blow up, we had a 80% hook up by doing this.!!!!!After the top water pattern went a way, we went back to the un-weighted Senko, Finesse worm Rig and we also use a 3/16oz Finesse Jig, the New CrawClicker by Mr Blitz. Senko - Watermelon Black/Red Flake. Finesse worm - Watermelon Red Flake Finesse Jig - Black/Brown/Amber with small Swimmin Chunk in Rootbeer Pepper/Green Hooks: weight less, 3/0 hooks w/latch-on rattle on 10 lb. Sufix Elite.
