J.P. Greeson
photo_jpgreeson

It's not by coincidence that J.P. Greeson lives on the scenic shoreline of Lake Bob Sandlin. Here, near the tiny East Texas community of Scroggins, Greeson's office rests below a shade-providing canopy of stately pine trees nestled only a short cast away from secluded and productive bass fishing water. Yet, at any given time, it's also mere seconds away from the massive audience of avid outdoorsmen that Greeson now serves.

For the 44-year-old Internet entrepreneur, fishing, hunting and making a living have long been synonymous.

J.P. Greeson grew up fishing the lakes, bays and offshore waters of Texas. Throughout the years he's explored angling venues all the way from southern Mexico northward to Canada. Greeson has a particular affinity for the Florida Keys, where he dedicated a full year to exploring the legendary region with fishing foremost in mind.

His initiation into the business side of the outdoors came about with a short stint as a hunting guide and outfitter. It wasn't long, however, before Greeson got back to his angling-anchored roots. In 1995, he began a different kind of exploration, venturing into the then-wide-open frontier of the Internet.

In 1998, Greeson took over the contract to produce the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department's statewide weekly fishing report, an endeavor that remains popular to this day. That same year, he started the Texas Fishing Forum.

Today Greeson's company, Outdoor Sites Network, operates heavily-visited and well-respected fishing forums in four states. Greeson continues to be an active member of the Texas Outdoor Writers Association and Southeastern Outdoor Press Association. Through these venues and others, he works closely with the outdoor media in an ongoing effort to expand upon and improve the Southern United States' largest and most active network of interactive fishing forums. To see why it's no coincidence that Greeson's forums are considered by many to be the best in the business, visit the Texas Fishing Forum at http://www.texasfishingforum.com/.  Also visit the Louisiana Fishing Forum at: http://www.louisianafishingforum.com/
